The Weekly EDGE : Friday, April 3, 2020 - Request for Custom Home Workouts

Morning all,

I am going to remind everyone that I am designing custom home plans for clients who request it. This is a more personalized version of the standard home workout PDF I have been talking about over the last 2 weeks. The custom version takes into account your individual strengths, weaknesses, overall goals and the equipment that you have at home. Each program takes a little over an hour to design, and I am charging a single (1) hour session fee. For those of you who have pre-paid for upcoming training sessions, whenever that is, I simply use one of those sessions for the time spent to put the plan together. And please if you have any friends or family members, in SD or not, who would be interested in a custom home workout plan please send them my way! Thank you.

Stay Strong,

Derek

This is a nice basic little video on sound meditation. Meditation is more essential than ever due to it’s physical, mental and emotional benefits. Some of you are well practiced meditators, while the rest of us may struggle a bit with it - or have never tried it at all. The key is to not try and be perfect, thoughts (good and bad) are going to float through your head. Just let them be and do not worry about them, and continue to try and focus on your breathing - or the sound of the music as in this video’s example. If you have never tried to meditate, just start with 5 minutes. Even if it is not perfect, you will feel a definite positive change in your state after. Believe me, it is kind of cool. I am attaching a link to a smartphone app called ‘Headspace’. This app has really taught me to meditate and has so many great programs to help make it easy getting started.

So be smart, and make sure you use your fresh food first, yet down the line canned items can be essential. Personally I have always used canned beans, specifically black beans, that are organic and lower sodium. They are a little harder to come by right now, yet I think things should be stocking back up. Here are some good recipes from MyFitnessPal using canned beans. Of course you may not be able to get all recipe ingredients right now, so you might need to modify.
