The Daily EDGE : Monday, March 23, 2020

Hope you are all hanging in there during this unusual time. This is the first in a daily series called the Daily EDGE. Most days will include a healthy recipe from MyFitnessPal (the nutrition app we recommend), the Daily Stretch/Massage, the Daily Exercise, and other motivational and wellness articles.

You can follow and click each ‘blue button’ to see the information.

Stay Strong, Derek

Each day I will send a new recipe from many of the great resources out there. I really like Home Chef, because their recipes are simple, healthy and you can either get the ingredients on your own or order their service. The service sends out perfectly proportioned components that are ready for easy prep and cooking.

When we are less active we want to increase the proteins, healthy fats, and vegetables in our diet, while reducing carbohydrates like starch and fruit. These carbohydrates can be good foods, but they are really best for very active lifestyles.

This first Daily EDGE video is just for fun. We can all reminisce about the older days (circa 2014), when we were allowed outside of the house! A ‘younger’ time. Yet all the movements that I teach, such as the Standing Cobra and Floor Glute Bridge, are esssential corrective exercises to realign the body - especially after increased seated and sedentary time. THEY SHOULD BE PRACTICED at least 2 Times a/Day.

AND FINALLY: Former Governor Arnold’s message to all of us in regards to staying safe, and staying at home. It makes all of us a little crazy :-) … And yes, he is still my hero, LOL.
